What it frames like

Its full-frame-equivalent focal length on the sensor it was made for.

How wide 18mm sees at its wide end on each sensor it covers.

f/3.5 wide open, to scale against f/1.4.

On APS-C (Sony E, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z): like 27-450mm on full frame; f/3.5-6.3 gives about the depth of field of f/5.2-9.4 there.
On APS-C (Canon) (Canon RF): like 29-480mm on full frame; f/3.5-6.3 gives about the depth of field of f/5.6-10.1 there.
On the larger-sensor bodies of Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E: it works with the camera in a APS-C crop mode, at fewer megapixels.
