Prime lens

A prime lens by Canon for Full frame cameras, 40mm f/2.8.

What it frames like

Its full-frame-equivalent focal length on the sensor it was made for.

How wide 40mm sees on each sensor it covers.

f/2.8 wide open, to scale against f/1.4.

On full frame (Canon EF): as marked, 40mm.
On APS-C (Canon) (Canon EF): like 64mm on full frame; f/2.8 gives about the depth of field of f/4.5 there.

See what it frames: its view on the Canon EOS 850D at any distance, and its depth of field, drawn to scale.
