What is the viltrox af 35mm f 1 8 evo good for?

The Viltrox AF 35mm f/1.8 EVO is a full-frame prime for Sony E and Nikon Z mounts, and I'd point it at environmental portraits. The 35mm view shows where someone is, and it works for groups too, as I note in the portraits guide.

On an APS-C body it frames like about 52mm, so it becomes a standard portrait lens with a little extra depth. It has autofocus but no stabilisation, so a body with in-body stabilisation helps if you shoot handheld in dim light. It fits plenty of bodies, including the Sony a7 III and the Nikon Z6 II.
