What is the viltrox af 27mm f 1 2 pro good for?

The Viltrox AF 27mm f/1.2 Pro is a fast prime for APS-C cameras. On Fujifilm X, Sony E or Nikon Z bodies it frames about like a 40mm lens on full frame, and f/1.2 gives roughly the depth of field of f/1.8. That makes it a good choice for low light and soft backgrounds.

It suits people, environmental portraits that show where someone is, food, and everyday indoor shooting. It isn't stabilised, so keep your shutter speed up in dim rooms. It fits bodies such as the Fujifilm X-T5, Sony a6700 and Nikon Z50 II.

If you want a tighter, more flattering portrait view, see portraits. For why a fast standard prime is a good early buy, read your first lenses.
