What is the canon mp e 65mm f 2 8 1 5x macro photo good for?
The MP-E 65mm is a manual-focus macro lens that goes from life size (1x) up to five times life size (5x), so it's for very close work on small subjects. It's f/2.8 and not stabilised. On full frame it frames as 65mm. On APS-C (Canon) it frames like about 104mm, and f/2.8 gives roughly the depth of field of f/4.5 there.
For full frame, I'd pair it with the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV or the Canon EOS 6D Mark II. If you shoot APS-C, the Canon EOS 90D is the one I'd look at first, since its crop gives you extra reach.
My site doesn't go into macro technique in detail. For general lens buying advice, see lenses.
