What is the 7artisans 25mm f 1 8 good for?

The 7Artisans 25mm f/1.8 is a small, fast prime for APS-C cameras. On Sony E, Fujifilm X or Nikon Z bodies it frames like a 38mm lens on full frame, a comfortable everyday view for street, travel and documentary work. Its f/1.8 aperture lets you shoot in dim rooms and blur backgrounds a little. On Micro Four Thirds it acts like a 50mm.

It's manual focus and not stabilised, so it suits slower, deliberate shooting more than fast action. For people, it works as an environmental portrait lens, showing where someone is, as I explain in Portraits. If you want a fast standard prime on APS-C, my starter lenses guide covers the options.
