What are the alternatives to the pentax smc da 200mm f 2 8 ed if sdm?

The site doesn't list a direct 200mm alternative to the [Pentax smc DA* 200mm f/2.8 ED [IF] SDM](/gear/lenses/pentax-smc-da-200mm-f-2-8-ed-if-sdm/). Its catalogue entry only shows the Pentax K bodies it fits, and I don't have another fixed 200mm to suggest.

The closest option I can point to is the [Pentax smc DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 ED [IF] SDM](/gear/lenses/pentax-smc-da-50-135mm-f-2-8-ed-if-sdm/). It's also a fast f/2.8 telephoto zoom for APS-C, but it reaches less far, so it suits closer subjects and portraits better. If you want reach like the 200mm, a 70-200mm f/2.8 is the kind of lens I'd look at; the portraits guide explains when that focal range pays off, and the landscape guide covers telephoto zooms for distant detail.
