Voigtl nder nokton 75mm f 1 5 aspherical vs leica summilux m 75mm f 1 4?

These two are both 75mm full-frame primes, but they're different choices. The Voigtländer Nokton 75mm f/1.5 Aspherical is the more flexible one. It's made for Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF and Leica M, so it works on a lot of bodies. On Sony E or Nikon Z it frames like about 112mm if you shoot APS-C.

The Leica Summilux-M 75mm f/1.4 is Leica M only, and it's a little faster at f/1.4. If you already shoot Leica M, that extra stop is the reason to pick it.

For most people, I'd go with the Nokton. It gives you the same focal length and manual focus on whatever mount you own. If you're committed to Leica M and want the faster lens, the Summilux is the one. For portraits generally, see Portraits.
