Should I upgrade from the sony rx100 vii?

The RX100 VII is still a very capable pocket camera. Its 1-inch sensor and 24-194mm-equivalent zoom cover a lot, so I'd only upgrade if you keep running into a specific limit: poor results in low light, wanting a shallower depth of field, or needing more reach.

I don't have a list of alternative cameras or lenses for it on this site, so I can't name a replacement or compare prices. If you do decide to upgrade, buying used is the cheapest way in, since a body one or two generations old often gives most of the performance for much less.

If you're weighing a bigger system instead, Your first camera explains why a mirrorless body with an APS-C sensor is where most people should look next.
