Should I upgrade from the panasonic lumix g95?

Probably not, not yet. The Lumix G97 is essentially the G95 refreshed with USB-C, and the site doesn't list any other changes that would make a big difference to what you shoot. Both use the same Micro Four Thirds mount, so your lenses carry straight over. If the G95 is doing its job, your money will go further elsewhere.

If you want to spend, I'd start with a lens. The OM System M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO II is a sharp, fast standard zoom that covers the range most people shoot most of the time, and it works on the G95 you already own.

If you do want the newer body, look at the Panasonic Lumix G97 page first, then consider a used G95 if the prices are right. A body one generation old is often most of the camera for much less money; see buying used.
