You asked

Should I upgrade from the olympus pen e pm2?

Probably not yet, unless something specific is holding you back. The E-PM2 is an old body with few controls and a 16MP sensor, but it still takes good pictures. If the lenses are what's limiting you, a new lens will often help more than a new body. A fast prime like the Panasonic Leica DG 25mm f/1.4 II gives you low-light and subject separation, and the Olympus M.Zuiko 45mm f/1.8 is a cheap step up for portraits. For a wider everyday range, look at the Olympus M.Zuiko 12-45mm f/4 PRO.

If you do want a new body, buy used. As the buying used guide explains, a body one or two generations old is often most of the camera for a fraction of the price.
