Should I upgrade from the fujifilm x e1?

Whether you should upgrade depends on what's holding your photos back, and this site doesn't compare the X-E1 with newer bodies, so I can't tell you which camera to buy next. The X-E1 is a 16.3-megapixel APS-C camera from 2012 with no stabilisation in the body, so a lens upgrade is often the cheapest way to see a difference.

If you want stabilisation and a good everyday zoom, try the Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS. For reach, look at the Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR. For a fast prime, the Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 R is a lovely match for this body.

Before spending on anything new, read Buying used. A body that's a generation or two old is often most of the camera for much less money.
