Should I switch from the pentax k s1 to mirrorless?

Not yet, I'd say. If the K-S1 does what you need, keep shooting with it. Changing bodies doesn't make you a better photographer, and you already have a working kit.

Mirrorless is where I'd point a first camera, and where I'd spend your next money, mainly on lenses. Your first camera explains why. If you do switch, I'd keep the money in lenses rather than the body.

If you stay on the K-S1, the everyday zoom I'd pick is the Pentax HD DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR. For a fast prime, try the Pentax smc DA* 55mm f/1.4 SDM. For something cheap and light, the Pentax smc DA 35mm f/2.4 AL is a good pick. The K-S1 page has the full list.
