Should I switch from the pentax k 50 to mirrorless?

I'd only switch if the K-50 is holding you back. It's a 2013 DSLR, and a recent mirrorless body will show you the exposure before you shoot and find and follow eyes more reliably. My advice for most people is a mirrorless camera with an APS-C sensor, a standard zoom, and one fast prime. Spend more on lenses than on the body.

Your Pentax lenses are the part to think hardest about. The K-50 page lists plenty of them, including the Pentax HD DA 35mm f/2.8 Macro Limited and the Pentax HD FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited. Before you commit, check whether a lens you care about will work on the new body, because mirrorless mounts are different. The lenses page says old manual-focus lenses adapt easily to mirrorless, which is a cheap way to keep using them.

If you're starting over, read your first camera. My short answer covers the same ground.
