Ricoh gr iii or fujifilm x100vi?

If you want the smallest camera that still has a big sensor, I'd pick the Ricoh GR III. It's an APS-C camera that fits in a trouser pocket, and its 18mm lens frames like 27mm on full frame. It's the street photographer's favourite for good reason.

If you care more about resolution and handling, go for the Fujifilm X100VI. It has 40.2 megapixels, a 23mm f/2 lens (about 34mm full-frame equivalent), a hybrid viewfinder, and dials for everything. It's bigger than the Ricoh, but it's still a fixed-lens compact.

Both are fixed-lens, so you're choosing a focal length and a way of working, not a zoom. For more on that trade-off, see my picks for street and my picks by type for travel.
