You asked
Om system om 5 vs om system om 1?
The OM System OM-1 is the flagship, with a stacked sensor in a weather-sealed body. The OM System OM-5 has the same 20.4-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor, but it's smaller and is weather sealed and stabilised, which is why I think of it as a hiking camera. Both take the same lenses, so the choice comes down to whether you want the flagship body or the smaller one.
For a sensible everyday kit on either, I'd start with:
- Olympus M.Zuiko 12-45mm f/4 PRO as a walkaround zoom
- OM System M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/4 PRO when you need reach
- Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 as a small, fast prime
If you're buying new, also look at the OM-5 Mark II, a 2025 update with the same sensor.
