You asked
Is the sony rx10 good in low light?
The Sony RX10 is decent in dim light, not great. Its constant f/2.8 lens is bright across the whole zoom, and the stabilisation helps you hand-hold slow shutter speeds. But its 1-inch sensor is small, and sensor size is what matters most in the dark. What a bigger sensor buys you explains why: a bigger sensor collects more light, so high ISO stays cleaner.
If low light is your main job, I'd look at these first:
- Sony a7S III: full frame and built for low light, though 12 megapixels is little for stills.
- Sony a6400: APS-C and quick to focus, but it has no in-body stabilisation, so pair it with stabilised lenses.
If you want the RX10 for its reach and convenience, it's a fine choice in good light.
