Is the sony fe 35mm f 1 8 good for video?
The Sony FE 35mm f/1.8 is a fine lens for video if you want a natural, mid-wide view, but it isn't my first pick. It has autofocus, but it isn't stabilised, so handheld shots will look shakier than on a stabilised lens or camera. My site doesn't test its video performance, so I can't say how it handles focus breathing or hunting.
For vlogging, I'd go wider. The Video guide's vlogging section suggests around 16-20mm full-frame equivalent, and the Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM covers that range. If you want a prime at 35mm for video, the Samyang AF 35mm f/1.4 P FE is described as lighter and video-friendly with little focus breathing.
Whatever lens you pick, budget for sound. See the audio section.
