Is the sony fe 300mm f 2 8 gm oss worth it?

It's worth it if you need reach. A 300mm f/2.8 is a serious tool. It's bright, it's stabilised, and it has autofocus, so it suits wildlife, birds and sport, especially in dim light. On full frame it frames as 300mm. On APS-C it becomes about 450mm, so you still get a long reach on a cheaper body like the Sony a6700.

If you mostly shoot wildlife or sport on full frame, pair it with the Sony a9 III or the Sony a7 IV. If you're not sure you need that much reach, read the sensor sizes guide first. The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS is a more flexible place to start. I don't list prices here, so check current ones before you decide.
