Is the sony fe 100 400mm f 5 6 8 oss good for travel?

It's a good lens for a wildlife or safari trip, but I wouldn't make it your only lens for travel. At about 650 g it's light for a 400mm zoom, it's stabilised, and it's affordable. The catch is that it's a telephoto, and travel means landscapes, food, street scenes and dim interiors too. At f/5.6-8 it's also dark for a church.

I'd pair it with a shorter zoom for the rest of the trip and bring the 100-400 when you're chasing animals or birds. The reach guide explains why the zoom works well on an APS-C body. For a full setup, see my picks, and the full lens details are on its page.
