Is the sony a7r iii good in low light?

The a7R III is full frame, so it gathers more light than APS-C cameras at the same framing and f-number, roughly a stop more. Its stabilisation is in the body, which helps when you're shooting handheld in dim rooms. I don't have a dedicated low-light rating for it, though. At 42 megapixels, each pixel is smaller than on a 12-megapixel body, so high ISO files won't be as clean as the sensor size alone suggests.

If low light is your main job, the Sony a7S III is built for it, though 12 megapixels is little for stills. On the a7R III, a fast lens matters more than anything else. The Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM is a strong choice, and the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II covers more ground if you want a zoom. For the bigger picture, see Sensor sizes.
