Is the sony a7c good for beginners?
The a7C is a good camera for a beginner who wants full frame in a small body, with stabilisation built in. It isn't my first pick for most people, though. My first camera guide suggests a mirrorless body with an APS-C sensor and its kit zoom, because the lenses matter more than the body.
If you go with the a7C, these lenses make a sensible start:
- Sony FE 28-60mm f/4-5.6 for a light everyday zoom
- Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS if you want one lens that covers most subjects
- Sony FE 28mm f/2 if you'd rather have a small, simple prime
Buying used can save real money, so it's worth reading buying used first. If you're choosing between generations, the newer a7C II is the one I shoot with.
