You asked
Is the sony a7 good for wildlife?
The a7 can take wildlife photos, but it's a hard way to start. It has no in-body stabilisation and slow autofocus by today's standards, and wildlife and sport is the most gear-dependent kind of photography. Your lens will matter more than the body.
If you want to try it on the a7, look at stabilised telephotos:
- Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS for plenty of reach.
- Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports if you want even more reach.
- Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS if you want something more compact.
Good lenses hold their value well, so buying used is a low-risk way to try a long lens. If you're serious about wildlife, the Sony a7 IV is the more capable all-rounder.
