Is the sigma 30mm f 1 4 dc dn contemporary sharp wide open?

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is described as cheap, sharp and fast, and I think that's a fair summary for a first prime on APS-C. I don't have wide-open test results to quote, though, so I can't tell you how it looks in the corners at f/1.4.

What f/1.4 does to the picture is clearer. On APS-C it frames like 45mm on full frame, and the depth of field is so thin that a face can go soft from nose to ear. For groups or two people at different distances, the portrait guide suggests stopping down to f/2.8.

The lens page lists every body it fits. If you're deciding how the crop affects your framing, sensor sizes explains that part.
