Is the sigma 23mm f 1 4 dc dn contemporary good for video?

The site doesn't rate the Sigma 23mm f/1.4 for video specifically. What it does say is that it's an autofocus prime for APS-C cameras with no stabilisation, and that on Sony E, Fujifilm X or L-Mount it frames like about 34mm on full frame. That's a fairly tight view, so it's better for interviews, b-roll and portraits than for vlogging at arm's length.

For vlogging, my guide suggests a wider lens, around 16-20mm full-frame equivalent. The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 is the wider option in this range. The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is the cheap, sharp first prime if you want a bit more reach.

Whichever lens you pick, budget for sound. See Video and Audio.
