Is the sigma 16 28mm f 2 8 dg dn contemporary good for video?
The Sigma 16-28mm f/2.8 can work well for video, mainly for wide, close-up shots like vlogging. On a full-frame body it covers 16-28mm, and my video guide suggests 16-20mm equivalent at arm's length, so the wide end is where it shines. It isn't stabilised, though, so pair it with a body that has good in-body stabilisation or keep your hand movement under control. On APS-C it frames like 24-42mm, which is much less wide for vlogging.
If you're shooting video on full frame, look at the Sony FX3, ZV-E1 or FX30 from the lens page's list of compatible cameras. Don't forget audio. Budget for a microphone from the start, as the audio section explains.
