Is the samyang af 45mm f 1 8 fe worth it?

If you shoot Sony E and want a fast, autofocusing prime that sits between a standard 50mm and a classic 85mm, the Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE is worth a look. It's made for full frame, and on a body like the Sony a7 III or Sony a7 IV it gives a natural, slightly tight view. f/1.8 gives you soft backgrounds and usable light indoors. It isn't stabilised, so your body's stabilisation has to do that job.

On an APS-C body such as the Sony a6700, it frames like about 68mm, which works well for portraits.

If you only buy one lens for people, I'd still pick a 50mm f/1.8 first, as the portrait guide explains. Samyang is a third-party maker, so check that your body's autofocus works with it. More on that in the lens notes.
