Is the pentax k 7 good in low light?

The site doesn't have a low-light rating for the Pentax K-7, so I can't tell you how clean its high ISO files are. What I can say is that it has an APS-C sensor at 14.6 megapixels, so expect it to trail full frame in dim light. A bigger sensor gains roughly a stop, and the K-7 has in-body stabilisation, which helps you hand-hold slower shutter speeds.

The bigger gain comes from the lens. A fast prime lets in far more light than a kit zoom. From the K-7 catalogue, I'd look at the Pentax HD DA* 55mm f/1.4 SDM, the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art, or the Pentax HD D FA* 50mm f/1.4 SDM AW. For more on why primes help, see primes or zooms. The full K-7 lens list is on its camera page.
