Is the pentax k 5 worth buying used?
Yes, I think the K-5 is a good used buy, as long as the price reflects its age. It was announced in 2010, and its 16.3-megapixel APS-C sensor and in-body stabilisation still hold up. The Pentax K-5 page lists the full range of lenses that fit it, and the Pentax K mount means old manual K lenses work on it too.
For an everyday kit, I'd look at the Pentax smc DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR for general use, or the Pentax HD DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR if you want one lens for travel.
Buying a camera a generation or two old is one of the best ways to save money, as I explain in Buying used. Budget for a new genuine battery too, because old ones lose capacity.
