You asked
Is the panasonic lumix s9 good for wildlife?
The S9 is a travel and social video body first. It's tiny and has no viewfinder, so I wouldn't pick it as a wildlife body if you had the choice. Wildlife is the most gear-dependent kind of photography, though, and the lens does most of the work. The S9 takes a good run of long lenses, so you can match one to what you shoot:
- Panasonic Lumix S Pro 70-200mm f/2.8 OIS for birds and nearby animals
- Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports for a flexible reach
- Sigma 300-600mm f/4 DG OS Sports if you want the most reach
Long lenses are also the easiest to try cheaply. Good lenses hold their value far better than bodies, so buying used makes testing one almost free. The wildlife and sport guide covers the rest.
