Is the olympus pen e pl7 good for beginners?
The PEN E-PL7 is a sound choice, but I wouldn't call it a beginner camera by default. Its page covers the basics: a 16.1-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor, in-body stabilisation, and a flip-down selfie screen. My beginner-focused PENs are the Olympus PEN E-PL9, which adds 4K video, and the Olympus PEN E-PL10, which is the stylish one with no viewfinder.
If you go with the E-PL7, start with a standard zoom and add a prime later. I'd pick the Olympus M.Zuiko 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ for everyday shooting, and the Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II if you want something small with a bit more light.
Before you buy, read your first camera. A used body is also a good way to save money: see buying used.
