Is the olympus pen e p7 good for video?
The site's PEN E-P7 page doesn't list video specs, so I can't call it a good video camera from that page alone. It does list in-body stabilisation, which helps with handheld shooting.
Check three things before you buy, using my video guide:
- A front-facing screen. The E-P7 page doesn't mention a flip screen, so confirm it on the manufacturer's spec sheet.
- A microphone input. Audio often matters more than sharpness, so look for one. I also suggest budgeting for a microphone from the start, as explained in the audio section.
- A wide lens. For vlogging, aim for roughly 16-20mm full-frame equivalent. On this camera, good picks are the Panasonic Leica DG 8-18mm f/2.8-4 (16-36mm equivalent), the Panasonic Leica DG 9mm f/1.7 (18mm equivalent), and the OM System M.Zuiko 9-18mm f/4-5.6 II (18-36mm equivalent).
