Is the olympus om d e m1 good for video?
The E-M1 page doesn't list its video specs, such as frame rates, whether the screen flips to the front, or whether it has a microphone input, so I can't judge its video from this site. Check those on the spec sheet before you buy.
The video guide covers what matters most: a front-flipping screen, a microphone input, a wide lens, and light weight. On Micro Four Thirds, a wide view of about 16-20mm full frame means roughly 8-10mm on the camera. Good picks from its catalogue:
- Panasonic Leica DG 9mm f/1.7: 18mm equivalent, my easy all-round choice.
- Laowa 10mm f/2 Zero-D MFT: 20mm equivalent.
- Panasonic Lumix G 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye: 16mm equivalent, but expect a strong fisheye curve.
Budget for sound too. The audio section explains why.
