You asked
Is the nikon z50 ii good in low light?
The Z50 II is an APS-C camera, so in the dark it won't match a full frame body. As I explain on what a bigger sensor buys you, full frame has roughly a stop of advantage at the same framing and f-number. The body also has no in-body stabilisation, so for low light you'll want lenses that have their own.
The biggest gain comes from a lens that opens wide. These three are a good place to start:
- Viltrox AF 23mm f/1.4, a fast standard-ish prime
- Nikon Z 24mm f/1.8 S, a fast prime with a Nikon finish
- Nikon Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR, a zoom that is both bright and stabilised
If you want to know why primes are so good for this, see Primes or zooms.
