You asked
Is the nikon z5 ii worth it?
I think the Z5 II is worth it if you want full frame and you'll shoot in dim rooms, at events, or for portraits with shallow depth of field. It's a 24.5-megapixel full frame body with stabilisation built into the camera, announced in 2025.
For travel, street, or most hobby work, a good APS-C camera with good lenses will do just as well, and you'll carry it more. The sensor guide explains the trade-off.
For an everyday kit, I'd start with:
- Nikon Z 24-70mm f/4 S for a sensible all-round zoom
- Nikon Z 35mm f/1.8 S for light, everyday shooting
- Nikon Z 85mm f/1.8 S for portraits
If you don't need a viewfinder, the Nikon Z5 IIC is the same camera with only a flip-out screen.
