Is the nikon z5 good for beginners?

The site doesn't give the Z5 a specific beginner rating, but I can tell you what matters. It's a full frame mirrorless camera with 24.3 megapixels and stabilisation built into the body, which helps when you're shooting handheld. For a beginner, the lens range matters most, and the Nikon Z mount has plenty. The Nikon Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 is a light everyday zoom, and the Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8 S is a good prime for learning how depth of field works.

Newer versions exist too. The Nikon Z5 II came out in 2025, and the Nikon Z5 IIC drops the viewfinder in favour of a flip-out screen.

Before you buy, hold one in a shop and see how it feels. The first camera guide has more on choosing.
