Is the nikon z 40mm f 2 good for video?

I can't give you a clear yes for video with this one. The lens page lists it as autofocus and not stabilised, but it doesn't say how well the autofocus holds up while filming, and I won't guess.

The framing is the bigger issue. On full frame it's a 40mm view, which is tighter than the 16-20mm I'd suggest for vlogging at arm's length. On APS-C it becomes roughly 60mm, tighter still. For handheld video, the vlogging checklist is the better guide, and the audio notes matter as much as the lens.
