Is the nikon d5 good for beginners?

Not really. The D5 is a pro sports body: heavy, fast and built to take a beating. That suits someone shooting sport for a living, but for a first camera it's a lot of weight and camera for what you'll need.

If you already have one, or want lenses that suit it, I'd keep things light and versatile. The Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8G is a simple way to learn with a fast lens. For everyday walking-around shots, the Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR covers a lot of ground, and its VR matters because the D5 has no stabilisation in the body.

For a first camera, I'd start smaller. Read don't overthink it and consider buying used to save money.
