Is the nikon af s 85mm f 1 4g good for video?
I don't have a verdict on the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G for video, so I can't say it's good or bad for it. The lens page lists it as an autofocus prime with no stabilisation and f/1.4 for shallow depth of field. On full frame it's an 85mm portrait view, and on APS-C it frames like 128mm.
That makes it a poor match for vlogging, where I'd want a wide lens around 16-20mm equivalent. For interviews or talking-head shots from a distance, the framing could work well, but plan your sound separately. The audio notes explain how. The Video guide covers what matters most in a video camera.
