Is the leica summilux sl 50mm f 1 4 asph 2016 good for street photography?

Not really, at least not the 2016 version. It's over a kilogram, and street shooting rewards a camera people don't notice. The street guide puts small and quiet ahead of megapixels, so this lens is a hard sell for that job.

The newer Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4 ASPH is smaller and lighter, so it's the one I'd look at for street. On an APS-C body it frames like about 75mm, which is tighter than most street work needs. If you want a compact kit, the Leica CL or Sigma fp pair with this lens. Full frame is optional here: the sensor guide argues that for street, a good APS-C camera is enough, and you'll carry it more.
