Is the leica m e typ 240 good in low light?
The Leica M-E (Typ 240) is a full frame camera, which is the main reason it does well in low light. At the same framing and f-number, full frame collects roughly a stop more light than APS-C, so high-ISO shots come out cleaner (What a bigger sensor buys you). I don't have a measured high-ISO test for this body, so I won't quote numbers.
The body has no stabilisation, so the lens does most of the work after dark. For that, I'd look at these fast M lenses:
- Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH for the most light gathered, at a serious price
- Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH for a classic low-light standard
- Voigtländer Nokton 35mm f/1.2 Aspherical IV for a wide fast option
