Is the leica elmarit tl 18mm f 2 8 asph good for landscape?
Not really, at least not as a main landscape lens. The Elmarit-TL 18mm is a pancake prime that frames like about 27mm equivalent on APS-C. That's a standard view, not a wide one. Landscape work usually wants more sky and foreground, which is why the landscape guide points to a wide zoom, around 10-24mm on APS-C.
It also doesn't need its f/2.8 speed. Landscapes are usually shot between f/8 and f/11, so the fast aperture goes unused. On full-frame L-Mount bodies it only works in APS-C crop mode, which gives you fewer megapixels, and that's a real cost when you want detail.
It's a fine small walk-around lens for street or travel. For landscapes, I'd look for a wide zoom first.
