Is the laowa 9mm f 2 8 zero d hard to focus manually?
The Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D is manual focus only, with no autofocus. I can't tell you how smooth its focus ring is, because that isn't something I've covered. What I can say is that a 9mm is forgiving. Its depth of field is deep, so you don't need pin-sharp focus to get a sharp frame. On APS-C it frames like 14mm on full frame, and at f/2.8 it gives about the depth of field of f/4.2 there.
If you're nervous about focusing by hand, try zone focusing. Pick a distance, stop down, and let everything in a range around it stay sharp. The Street page walks through the method. For the lens itself, see the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D page.
