Is the canon eos r8 mark ii good in low light?

The R8 Mark II has a full frame sensor, which is the best starting point for low light. As I explain in what a bigger sensor buys you, full frame gathers more light than APS-C at the same framing and aperture, so high-ISO images tend to be cleaner. It also has in-body stabilisation, which helps when you're shooting handheld in dim rooms.

The lens matters as much as the body. For dim scenes I'd pick a fast prime: the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM is cheap and gathers far more light than a kit zoom. If you want a zoom, the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM is a solid all-round choice. For the money, that's the pairing I'd go for.
