Is the canon eos r5 good in low light?

The EOS R5 is a full frame camera, and full frame is the right size for low light. My page doesn't rate its high-ISO results directly, though. The model I call excellent in low light is the Canon EOS R6, which has 20 megapixels and is stabilised. The R5 has in-body stabilisation too, so you can hand-hold at slower shutter speeds.

Full frame gives roughly a stop over APS-C at the same framing and f-number, and that's where the low-light gain comes from (what a bigger sensor buys you). The lens matters just as much. For dim rooms, try the Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM or the Canon RF 35mm f/1.4L VCM. Both gather far more light than a kit zoom.
