Is the canon ef 50mm f 1 2l usm good for video?

The site doesn't have a video review of this lens, so I can't tell you how its footage looks. What the page does show: it's a 50mm f/1.2 prime with autofocus, and it isn't stabilised. On full frame it frames as a standard 50mm, but on APS-C it frames like 80mm, which is tight for vlogging.

The f/1.2 aperture gives very shallow depth of field. That suits interviews and close-ups, but it's hard to keep sharp when you're moving, so you'll want a tripod, a gimbal, or a stabilised setup.

Sound matters as much as the lens. Video covers what to look for in a video camera and why audio deserves budget. For the lens itself, see the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM page. If you're pairing it with a body, the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and Canon EOS 80D both take it.
