Is the canon ef 28mm f 2 8 is usm good for vlogging?

Not really, not for arm's-length vlogging. I like wide lenses for this: around 16-20mm full-frame equivalent, because a 24mm view crops you tight once stabilisation crops in further. The Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM is 28mm on full frame and about 45mm equivalent on APS-C, which is too tight for holding the camera at arm's length.

The stabilisation and the f/2.8 aperture are useful, though. If you already own one of the APS-C bodies it fits, such as the Canon EOS 850D, it will work fine on a tripod or for talking-head shots. For handheld vlogging, I'd look for a wider lens.

Also check the vlogging checklist: a flip-out screen, a microphone input, and light weight matter as much as the lens. Good audio matters most of all.
