Is the canon ef 100mm f 2 8l macro is usm worth it?

I think it's worth it if you shoot close-up work like flowers, insects, or small products. It's stabilised, has autofocus, and f/2.8 gives you more light and subject separation than most macro lenses at this focal length. On full frame it frames as 100mm. On APS-C it behaves like about 160mm, which lets you keep a bit more distance from skittish subjects. The Focal length converter explains how that works.

It fits a good range of bodies. For full frame, the Canon EOS 6D Mark II is a sensible partner. If you'd rather keep the weight and cost down, the Canon EOS 80D is an excellent APS-C match and works well with this lens.

Whether full frame is worth the extra money is a separate question, and the answer depends on how you shoot. You can read more in Sensor sizes.
