Is a leica worth it for street photography?

I don't have a Leica page on the site, so I can't tell you whether one is worth its price. What I can tell you is what matters for street work. The Street guide says a camera people don't notice, one you can shoot without thinking, beats megapixels every time. Small and quiet is the goal.

If you're after that kind of setup, the two pancake lenses I'd look at are the 7Artisans 35mm f/5.6 and the TTArtisan M 28mm f/5.6. Both are thin enough to disappear in a pocket and suit zone focusing, though they're for full frame cameras. On the sensor question, the sensor sizes page argues that for travel and street, a good APS-C camera with good lenses is usually enough, and you'll carry it more.
