How many megapixels do I need?

I don't cover megapixels on this site, so I won't give you a number I can't back up. What I do believe is that what you want to photograph should decide the camera, and megapixels are a small part of that.

If you tell me your subject, I can point you to the right kit. For example, if you shoot landscapes, the Landscape page explains which lenses matter and why you don't need fast apertures. If you make films, the Video page covers what a body needs for 4K, 10-bit recording, and ND filters.
